A fair number of cosmetic counters are more than happy to give you a free makeover in the hope you'll part with oodles of cash (Benefit being a fav of mine!)

As long as you're not too much of a pushover you can still have the makeover and not spend any money at all.

Word of warning though... don't go to the same counter too many times. If they think you're just blagging it they have the power to make you look like Coco The Clown
